Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions
Develops, modifies, implements, and maintains quality assurance program plans and surveillance systems, and lead a team in the application of those plans and systems.
Support the analysis, planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of key projects to help the organization achieve its goals.
Apply Lean Six Sigma principles in addressing and resolving issues and concerns.
Conduct research and analysis to understand the needs of the company and its projects.
Develops strategies to optimize the workflow and workforce performance.
Create an environment which enables success including goals, measures, coaching, and communication, among others.
Participate in Lean Six Sigma activities and projects.
Collaborates with Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain Management, Production, and Supplier Quality Management organizations to ensure that a quality management system is in place and adhered to.
Interacts with Program Management and Subcontractor Management organizations for related QA activities.
Designs and analyzes inspection and surveillance processes to conduct Quality Assurance oversight of the production environment.
Audits LM and subcontractor\'s Quality Management System for workmanship, deficiencies, effective corrective actions, and validation of compliance to company\'s management system and compliance to ISO 9001.
Generates and reviews audit reports for completeness and conformity to quality management system requirements.
Ensures that corrective action measures are effective and meet acceptable reliability standards.
Ensures that program documentation and records are compliant with contractual requirements.
What you bring to the role
Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10+ years of professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
Strong QA background; skilled in ISO 9001 or AS9100.
Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office suite: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access
Experience in development and implementation of Quality Assurance initiatives to achieve program and/or company objectives.
Strong leadership skills with excellent teaming skills.
Six Sigma/Lean Training an asset
Program and Risk Management familiarity an asset
Ability to delegate and manage priorities.
Strong problem identification and resolution of non-conformances.
Manufacturing / Production experience with Canadian military product, systems, specifications, and critical inspection processes.
Good communicator with excellent writing and computer skills; must be effective within all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
