Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description

Summary Reporting to the QA Supervisor, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the production operations are conducted in accordance with food safety rules and are compliant with the quality standards for processes and products. Responsibilities

  • Sample inbound containers of raw materials for Microbiological/Physiochemical Testing.
  • Sample finish goods when required.
  • Record the sampling details.
  • Communicate with third party warehouse on how to separate cases (for sampling) on each load.
  • Perform quality testing of food products such as physical analysis, pH and Brix.
  • Document and record results as instructed.
  • Perform GMP inspections in the production room.
  • Daily verification of QMR 14.
  • Daily pre-op inspection.
  • Prepare samples for customers and assist with shipment of the package.
  • Perform chemical titration weekly.
  • Monthly glass and hard plastic audit, chemical inventory, etc.
  • Assist with data entry
  • Track the incoming packaging materials and check COC from each PO.
  • Weekly-Check Knife Inventory
  • Monthly-Building Inspection
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Alternate quality coordinator, quality micro technician
Qualifications & Skills:
  • One (1) to three (3) years\' experience as a Quality Control Technician.
  • Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment, an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in English or French, written and spoken to serve internal and external clients.
  • Diploma of College Studies (D.E.C.) in Science or other related field, an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
