Job Description


Essential Responsibilities / Specific Duties:
Monitoring UHT or pasteurization process and aseptic food packaging (experience required)
Evaluate in-process and finished goods meet quality standards & specifications.
Collects & evaluate incoming materials and evaluates against quality standards & specifications.
Collect micro samples and conduct in-house micro testing.
Perform sensory and analytical testing on in-process batches and analytical testing on incoming ingredients.
Releases finished goods that meet quality and micro standards.
Performs or coordinates calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
Conducts GMP & other inspections. Initiates follow up to deviations.
Maintains records documentation and finished product samples.
Collects samples for lab testing, customer samples and external lab testing.
Initiates quarantine process for out of specification materials, in-process samples and finished goods.
Develops and verifies standard operation procedures.
Conducts and evaluates microbiological programs.
Supports investigation on quarantine materials and finished goods.
Supports investigation of customer complaints.
Responsible to report food safety problems and/or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actions.
Supports food safety, quality, regulatory and customer audits.
Completes SQF, safety and other company initiated trainings.

Knowledge & Key Competencies:
Must have experience monitoring UHT or pasteurization process and have aseptic food packaging experience. Beverage manufacturing experience preferred but not required
Must have microbiological testing experience (ie. Micro plating, aseptic sampling)
Strong communication, problem solving, written and verbal skills.
Able to work flexible hours (including overtime, periodic weekends and occasional night shift as needed by the business).
Ability to handle multiple tasks and a physically demanding job in fast paced environment while maintaining accurate information & documentation.
Analytical aptitude.
Mechanical aptitude.
Takes initiative and is self-motivated.
Strong team player with food interpersonal, communication and team-working skills.
Ability to handle conflicts and provide resolutions.
MUST BE computer literate: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
Ability to perform product analysis (including though not limited to: pH, TDS, moisture, color and density)
Ability to perform real-time sensory analysis of food products.
Knowledge and understanding of Goods Manufacturing Practices.

Education Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Sciences or related fields.

Afternoon shift 3pm to 11:30pm
