Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description

Join a young, experienced production team and work with premium cannabis flower grown in a state-of-the-art facility. The Quality Assurance Technician works directly with our Quality Manager to assist in daily quality department activities. This is a full-time team member who must be available for regular business hours from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities



Assist in the implementation of training programs around SOPs pertaining to GPP and Record Keeping Compliance. Ensure completeness and verify accuracy of documentation. Ensure Good documentation practices on all applicable documents related to GPP, GACP, and IMC-GAP. Support the Quality Assurance Department in ensuring compliance under the Cannabis Act/Regulations and other regulatory requirements while implementing SOPs, Quality Management Systems, and related projects. Maintain document control in both digital and physical formats. Contribute your skills and knowledge to write, edit, review, and enforce our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work instructions, and Preventative Control Plans (PCP). Ensure the cleaning and sanitation programs are followed Conduct quality inspections in operational areas, ensuring product quality at all stages from cultivation, processing to packaging, and storage. Conduct equipment calibrations and validations, as required. Provide support in the development of in-house testing procedures and operation of analytical instrumentation for assessing product quality. Responsible for monitoring when batches progress to the required sampling point. Responsible for preparing samples and submitting with requisition forms for analytical testing conducted at external laboratories and filing associated results. Assist in submitting samples for analysis and produce CoAs, as needed. Perform QA duties for materials management; such as label release, verification and application for approved products with related COAs. Collaborate with other relevant departments such as operations, security, cultivation, facilities management to ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations and guidelines. Provide support to the team with Health Canada and other required audits. Conduct weekly internal production audits, as required. Be proactive with improvements or efficiencies that can be made to our processes and systems. Maintain security and confidentiality of all aspects of the business Stay current on relevant technical Quality Assurance practices within the industry in relation to the cannabis Act and other required regulations.

Qualifications



1-3 years' experience in a QC/QA role in a GPP, HACCP, or GAP regulated environment

Minimum of High School Diploma required; some level of relevant post-secondary education preferred. (Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, Diploma, or Certification in Sciences, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or Laboratory Technology an asset.)

Knowledge of Health Canada regulations and GPP requirements an asset

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Strong communication skills

Proficiency in Spanish an asset

Proficiency in Ukrainian an asset

Schedule



- 8-hour shift

- Day shift

- Monday to Friday (Weekends as needed, on rare occasion)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $45,000.00-$53,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
