Auxly Charlottetown has assembled a world-class team housed in a purpose-built, 55,000 sqft. GPP compliant facility that will be the hub for cannabis extraction, product innovation and formulation.

About the role
The Quality Assurance (QA) department is seeking a candidate to fill a full time QA Technician role to support the production of cannabis products. Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance, the technician will ensure consistent quality of cannabis productions by assisting in developing and enforcing appropriate Preventative Control Plans (PCPs), in conjunction with existing GPP systems.


What can you expect to do:
  • Work within GPP guidelines and enforce the Quality Management System (QMS), such as change controls, deviations, non-conformance, root cause investigations, CAPA\xe2\x80\x99s, etc.
  • Assist in the development of PCPs though conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures for all products manufactured at the facility.
  • Create, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that comply with regulatory requirements
  • Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain all documentation within the scope of facility QMS.
  • Track metrics around compliance and efficiency and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including deviations, recalls, corrective actions and re-validations.
  • Write/review protocols and reports including but not limited to equipment, process, cleaning, computer system and analytical method validations.
  • Participate in annual product quality review; compile data and prepare reports.
What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
  • Degree or diploma in food science or other applicable science.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance in a relevant field such as food manufacturing, natural health product (NHP) manufacturing or drug product manufacturing.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems.
  • Possess strong technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience using ERP systems.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to an evolving environment.
What will set you apart
  • Experience or an ability to demonstrate competency in GFSI and other quality management programs, including ISO 22000-2017, FSC 22000, ISO/TS 22002-series, ISO 9001-2015, GMP, HACCP, CODEX, COR, associated FSMS.
  • Ability to interpret and understand Health Canada regulations in the context of the scientific and commercial environment.
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong attention to detail.
