QUALITY ASSURANCE & SURETY SPECIALIST, PERSONAL & COMMERCIAL INSURANCE



As a Quality Assurance & Surety Specialist with a focus on the Surety sector with the strategic impact of Quality Assurance (QA) initiatives across both personal and commercial insurance, you bring a solid background in personal and commercial insurance, a sharp eye for detail, and a customer service focus mindset. Reporting to the Director, Growth & Client Experience and the Team Leader, Commercial Client Experience, you will play a key role in strengthening our Ontario operations by developing regional quality standards, driving continuous improvement, and supporting broker development--all while leveraging your expertise in surety. You will be the go-to QA subject matter expert for our Ontario leadership team, helping to shape a culture of excellence and compliance across the province.

LOCATION AND STATUS

Full-time, permanent Toronto, ON or another Acera office

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and support surety bond requests, renewals, and client service needs. Act as a resource for Ontario employees, providing guidance on surety-related inquiries and submissions. Liaise with surety markets and underwriters to facilitate the placement and renewal of bonds. Assist in developing and standardizing surety workflows across Ontario offices. Lead QA initiatives in Ontario, ensuring alignment with RIBO compliance requirements. Conduct new hire audits during onboarding to ensure procedural and compliance accuracy. Perform regular spot checks of employees' activity to maintain high performance and compliance standards. Review policy applications and endorsements for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to workflow protocols. Facilitate one-on-one and group coaching sessions based on QA findings and professional development needs. Design and deliver internal workshops and information sessions focused on Ontario-specific workflows, regulatory updates, and best practices. Collaborate with branch and team leadership to identify training needs and provide targeted coaching. Build and enhance the Ontario QA program, with a focus on scalable, consistent processes. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of related and progressive experience in the insurance industry with a strong working knowledge of personal and commercial insurance products. Relevant experience working with Surety related insurance products is preferred. RIBO License is required CIP or CAIB designation, or working towards is considered an asset
