Position Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily QA operations, ensuring compliance with Health Canada Cannabis Regulations, CFIA, GFSI standards (BRC/SQF), HACCP, GMP, and company policies. This role provides leadership to QA staff and supports the continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems.

Duties

Key Responsibilities

Supervise QA Technicians and daily quality operations. Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and GFSI (BRC/SQF) programs. Conduct audits, inspections, and verifications of production and sanitation. Review and approve batch records, labels, and quality documentation. Investigate non-conformances, deviations, and customer complaints. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Provide training to staff on quality and food safety programs. Support continuous improvement initiatives and prepare quality reports. Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards. Conduct regular quality inspections and audits throughout the manufacturing process to identify areas for improvement. Analyze data from quality control tests and inspections to identify trends, root causes, and areas of concern. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Manage projects related to quality improvement initiatives, ensuring timely completion and adherence to objectives. Train and mentor staff on quality assurance practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics, presenting findings to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of QA/QC experience in food, beverage, nutraceutical, or cannabis manufacturing. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments..

Pay: $65,000.00-$81,000.00 per year
