Produce Quality Control Specialist

to help ensure the "Right Product, Right Quality." This role is perfect for someone who is detail-driven, reliable, and comfortable working in a warehouse or cooler environment while assessing product quality, condition, and grade.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 7am - 5pm. Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends if needed. Possible Stat holidays may be required.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:



Conduct quality audits on all inbound produce orders and create detailed reporting and documentation for Warehouse Managers and the Sales Team. Inspect outbound product to identify potential quality issues and communicate findings proactively with the Sales Team. Interpret and apply customer-specific product quality specifications to ensure all shipments meet required standards. Arrange and recommend CFIA audits when inbound inspections identify defects that do not meet federal guidelines. Perform daily facility walks to identify aging product, quality concerns, and any risks within stored inventory. Participate in put-away planning with the shipping/receiving team to effectively organize cooler space for incoming commodities. Support coaching, training, and knowledge-sharing with warehouse employees regarding produce quality and specification requirements. Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as required. Contribute to additional projects or responsibilities as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED IN ORDER TO QUALIFY:



Fresh produce experience is required, either from a warehouse, distribution, or retail produce environment. Solid understanding of HACCP principles and food-safety regulatory requirements. A strong eye for detail and accuracy when assessing product condition and quality. Excellent verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills to clearly report findings and collaborate with teams. Positive, adaptable team player with a professional and energetic approach to work. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and the ability to learn internal Warehouse Management Systems. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. Strong organizational skills and adherence to company policies, processes, and food-safety standards.
