Description

Our client in the public sector is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to work with project development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure software-based solutions meet established requirements and best practices. This QA Analyst opportunity is a contract-based employment opportunity with a requirement to work on-site in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The initial term is for six months in duration, with an extension to 24 months possible.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define test objectives, test plans, and test strategies.
  • Identify and prioritize test cases based on project requirements and risks and develop associated test plans and timelines.
  • Coordinate testing teams to execute functional, regression, performance, and integration tests to ensure the solutions meet defined requirements and quality best practices. Identify and report defects, and work with the project team to resolve them.
  • Coordinate and participate in the development and maintenance of automated and manual test scripts using appropriate testing tools and frameworks. Continuously enhance and expand the test automation suite to improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and participate in the development and maintenance of detailed test documentation including test cases, test scripts, test data, and test reports.
  • Track, manage, and prioritize defects throughout the testing process. Conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying causes of defects and provide feedback to assist in their correction.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes and best practices to ensure consistent and effective testing approaches across solutions. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including vendors, business and technical subject matter experts, developers, business analysts, and project managers.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and quality-related issues to project stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements

Candidates MUST HAVE the following qualifications:
  • Minimum of Five (5) years experience as a QA Analyst or similar role.
  • Minimum of Three (3) years coordinating QA teams in the context of a quality assurance program.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in the use of test management tools such as Jira, TestRail etc.
  • Experience testing integrations between software solutions including validation of message content.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of data security and data privacy best practices.
  • Ability to show discretion and a high attention to detail around security when working with sensitive data.
The following experience will be considered an asset to this role:
  • Experience in test automation using scripting or test automation tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based services (e.g. AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a current criminal record check, must submit to an enhanced security screening, performed by the client, and may be required to provide proof of clearance on a Child Abuse Registry and Adult Abuse Registry check.
