Position Overview:
As a member of management, and reporting to the Director of Services for Residential Services, the Quality Assurance Manager/Data Steward will be assigned a portfolio of responsibilities, which will include overseeing the operations of service units as well as responsibilities for specific liaison, service area, special projects, policy or reporting functions.
The Quality Assurance Manager/Data Steward will work together with the service senior management team to ensure that agency services meet the requirements of the Child and Family Services Act, the First Nations mandate, Ministry licensing and service standards, as well as the agency\'s mandatory policies and procedures. This position will also address operational date quality issues within the agency and take those finding and recommend corrections to the data quality circle to be established in the agency and on approval make those changes in the front-end systems. It will thus be important for the Quality Assurance Manager/Data Steward to know the organizations\' child welfare system, its processes and the date involved in those processes and systems. The Quality Assurance Manager/Data Steward will develop and maintain effective working relations with staff members and other community service providers; assist with the development of policies and workplans, and other duties that may be assigned by the Directors of Services
The ideal candidate will have a keen interest and experience in data management, statistical reporting and trends analysis, and have an aptitude and desire for continued learning in these areas. They will be required to collect, evaluate, and analyze data and prepare statistical and performance reports as well as develop, maintain, analyze and interpret data for Management, service and administrative teams, and the Ministry. They will ensure the control of databases and lead and assist in the development and implementation of measurement systems.
QUALIFICATIONS

2. Extensive experience in Indigenous Child Well-Being Services and/or child welfare, with sound knowledge of the role of supporting systems, processes and data in child welfare operations;
3. Post Secondary education in the field of Social Services, BSW or MSW preferred.
4. Very Good Written and oral communication skills, and strong documentation skills
5. Very Good interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening and questioning skills
6. Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Proven capacity to design and manage integration of quality improvement and research initiatives within an organization;
8. Skill and experience in report writing and data analysis.
9. Demonstrated understanding of workplace Health and Safety practices and understanding of an employee\'s responsibility under current legislation;
10. Experience in administration, management and leadership, with demonstrated knowledge and skills in the areas of supervision, policy development, program management, team building and organizational development.
11. A minimum of five years experience in the field of child welfare, with demonstrated knowledge in the key areas of child protection and residential care services.
12. Understanding of the collective culture of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation and the traditional value of family and communities.
13. Ability to converse fluently in Ojibway, Oji-Cree and/or Cree a definite asset.
14. Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
15. Possess a valid Drivers License.
16. Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including travel by air and winter road.
17. Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check.
