We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager. Reporting to the GM/VP. The Quality Manager will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the Quality Plan, aligning with the Strategic Plan to ensure the continuous improvement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity within the Plant.
This role involves providing oversight of the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring the training and development of resources across the Plant. The Quality Manager will benchmark best practices locally, corporately, and within the industry, while driving continuous improvement in Key Operations Indicators (KOIs) in a high-growth, customer-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Quality Management System Oversight:
Manage the QMS for the plant, ensuring all quality-related policies, procedures, and documentation are maintained, monitored, and effectively implemented.
Customer and Supplier Relations:
Serve as the primary contact for all customer quality concerns, driving the resolution of issues through 8D problem-solving while building and maintaining strong relationships with major OEMs and suppliers. Assist in supplier selection, certification, and process control improvements.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead efforts in continuous quality improvement, including implementing Lean practices and Six Sigma methodologies. Develop and execute annual Quality business plans and budgets, and drive year-over-year improvement in quality metrics.
Training and Development:
Implement ongoing training programs for operators on quality standards and procedures, ensuring compliance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all customer-specific requirements, ISO 9001, TS 16949, and other relevant industry standards. Oversee internal audits, corrective/preventative actions, and monitor non-conformance reports.
Leadership and Supervision:
Supervise Quality personnel, fostering a collaborative work environment and leading by example. Mentor and develop talent within the Quality department to build a strong, motivated team.
Strategic Planning:
Support the development of the Strategic Plan by developing and leading the Quality Plan, ensuring it aligns with overall business goals. Monitor customer-related costs and report monthly Quality results to the Management Team.
Problem-Solving:
Address and resolve quality issues swiftly, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions. Utilize tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC to analyze and improve processes.
Customer and Site Engagement:
Travel to customer sites as needed to present corrective actions, manage customer relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Education and Experience:
Required:
o Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field
o 5-10 years of experience in Quality, Engineering, or Production within a manufacturing environment.
o Proven experience managing quality systems in a low-volume, high-complexity parts manufacturing environment.
o Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9001, TS 16949, and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA).
o Experience with metal fabrication, especially laser cutting, stamping, forming, welding, and machining.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role requires the physical ability to perform essential job functions, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to moving mechanical parts and chemicals. Safety gear, including metatarsal guard safety shoes and safety glasses, must be worn.
