About the Role:
Reporting to the Vice President, the Quality Assurance Manager will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Malley Industries' Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with industry standards. This role ensures compliance across manufacturing and corporate processes while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a track record as a team player, demonstrating strong leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills through a management style that will ensure buy-in from all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management System (QMS) Leadership:
Define policies, standards, and workflows for quality assurance across all departments to ensure continuous production of high-quality products, consistent with established standards, customer requirements and production goals
Maintain relevant certifications and integrate requirements into all processes.
Quality control and inspection process:
Oversee the inspection process, including the development of inspection criteria and the implementation of inspection procedures.
Conduct root cause analysis by investigating quality issues to determine root causes and developing effective corrective actions.
Compliance & audit readiness:
Maintain quality documentation and evidence required for internal and external audits.
Coordinate third-party certification processes and manage corrective actions.
Continuous Process Improvement:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, develop corrective actions, and improve overall manufacturing processes.
Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives for efficiency and quality.
Reporting and documentation:
Develop dashboards and KPIs to track quality performance.
Maintain detailed records of quality issues and corrective actions.
Prepare compliance reports for audits and regulatory bodies.
Training & Awareness:
Deliver or develop quality training programs for staff.
Promote a collaborative culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
Supplier & Partner Quality:
Support Purchasing, as required, to monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing or related field.
Advanced certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) are a plus.
Minimum 5 years in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry.
Demonstrated oral and written proficiency in English required.
Technical skills:
Process Improvement & Root Cause Analysis. Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Quality Management Expertise. Ability to integrate QMS principles into all organizational processes.
Audit & Quality Control Systems Management, demonstrating skill in designing and maintaining quality control systems.
Knowledge of automotive standards and regulatory compliance, is preferred.
