Quality Assurance Engineer SQL Expert (Banking Domain)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced

QA Engineer

with strong expertise in

SQL

and a solid understanding of the

banking and financial services domain

. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our applications by designing and executing comprehensive test strategies, performing deep data validations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze business and technical requirements to develop effective test strategies and test cases. Write complex SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform backend/database testing. Design, develop, and execute functional, integration, regression, and system test cases. Perform end-to-end testing of banking applications such as core banking systems, loan processing, payments, or transaction monitoring systems. Identify, log, and track defects using defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM). Collaborate with development, business analysts, and product teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues. Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives). Contribute to test automation strategies and continuous integration initiatives where applicable.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance. Strong expertise in

SQL

ability to write and debug complex queries for data validation. Solid understanding of

banking domain processes

(e.g., payments, loans, accounts, KYC, risk, regulatory compliance). Hands-on experience with

test case management tools

(e.g., ALM, TestRail). Experience with

defect tracking tools

such as

JIRA

. Strong understanding of

STLC

,

testing methodologies

, and

Agile practices

. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred/Desirable Skills:

Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT) is a plus. Knowledge of API testing (Postman, SOAP UI). Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git). Familiarity with data warehouse/data lake environments is an advantage.

Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
