Belvika is currently seeking a

Quality Assurance Coordinator

to maintain the overall quality standards for all products packed and ensure that the Company's & Client's quality specifications are complied with at all times. The QA Coordinator will be located at 85 Thornmount Dr., Scarborough, ON M1B 5V3.




The successful candidate will:




Key Responsibilities:




Assist in developing, maintaining, and verifying the company's Food Safety and Quality Programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations. Conduct at least weekly facility audit readiness inspections, issue detailed reports, and follow up on timely closure of identified non-conformances. Support internal, customer, government, and third-party audits to maintain compliance with applicable standards. Develop, update, and implement training programs and matrices based on quality data, customer complaints, and audit results. Manage the Non-Conformance, Customer Complaint, Product Hold, and CAPA programs--this includes issuing NCRs, performing root cause analyses, completing CAPA documentation, and maintaining tracking systems. Perform routine QA record reviews and on-site verifications, including preventive maintenance logs, sanitation schedules, shipping/receiving documentation, and daily inspection reports. Ensure QA specifications and forms are correctly created and linked in Nulogy for all new items and updated as needed. Support the QA Manager in preparing for monthly and annual Management Review meetings by compiling and analyzing quality performance trends. Assist in executing mock recalls and managing actual recall events, if required. Monitor inventory of QA departmental supplies and ensure availability to prevent stockouts. Serve as the primary backup for shift QA Inspectors - this includes performing line start-up inspections, in-process checks, GMP audits, changeover validations, ATP and environmental swabs, allergen validations, and other QA duties. Analyze QA data, audit findings, and customer feedback to identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement. Assist with the Supplier Approval and Monitoring Program, including reviewing documentation, COAs, and certifications to ensure supplier compliance. Provide coaching, support, and guidance to QA Inspectors and Production team members to ensure quality standards are upheld across the operation. Follow all company health and safety policies and work in full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Perform other duties assigned to support the success of the facility's Food Safety and Quality systems.



Education/Work experience requirements:




Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Safety, or a closely related field is required. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in food manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance, or a related area is preferred. Certifications in the following areas are highly desirable: HACCP, SQF, PCQI Experience working with SQF, HACCP, GMP, CFIA, and other food safety regulations. Previous experience in investigations and implementing corrective/preventive actions.

Self-starter who works well under pressure and has great time management skills; Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with QA databases or digital forms is preferred Great interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work well both independently and with multiple departments as required; Knowledge and basic understanding of allergen and pathogen swabbing techniques; Knowledge of quality auditing, inspection methods; Detail oriented; Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task; Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
