The Quality Assurance and Compliance Coordinator is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring Makoose C Gamik Inc. delivers services that meet or exceed legislative, policy, and regulatory standards. This role develops and oversees the agency's quality assurance framework, including audits, compliance monitoring, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance tracks agency successes and identifies areas needing more support, analyzing strengths and weaknesses to drive organizational growth. The role works closely with the Director of Service, Human Resources, and Program Managers to promote accountability, learning, and a culture of excellence.
Duties
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Develop, implement, and maintain the agency's quality assurance framework.
Conduct regular audits, file reviews, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to the Child and Family Services Act, provincial standards, and funding agreements.
Monitor agency-wide adherence to policies and corrective action plans.
Coordinate internal and external reviews, inspections, and responses to audit findings.
Performance Monitoring & Analysis
Collect, analyze, and report monthly, quarterly, and annual service statistics.
Track agency-wide successes and identify areas where additional support is required.
Use evaluation data provided by the Director of Service to identify organizational strengths and weaknesses.
Recommend improvements to strengthen service delivery, efficiency, and outcomes.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
Identify risks within service delivery and agency operations.
Lead the development and monitoring of corrective action plans.
Promote a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
Training & Development (Compliance-focused)
Collaborate with HR and management to integrate compliance and standards into staff training and orientation.
Ensure staff remain current on changes in legislation, provincial standards, and policies.
Reporting & Governance
Prepare reports for the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and funding authorities.
Provide clear analysis of compliance outcomes, risks, and improvement initiatives.
Ensure Board and management receive accurate data to guide strategic decisions.
Other Duties
Remain current on legislation, provincial standards, and best practices in quality assurance.
Participate in management meetings and community events, as required.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in Social Services, Policy, or related field; training in quality assurance, compliance, or program evaluation an asset.
Minimum five (5) years' leadership experience in child welfare or social services, with proven experience in quality assurance or compliance.
Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, compliance frameworks, and risk management.
Knowledge of Manitoba CFS legislation, standards, and policies.
Experience working with First Nations communities and knowledge of cultural protocols.
Proficiency in CFSIS and statistical analysis.
