Role Overview



Working closely with the QA Director, the Quality Assurance Analyst ensures that all products meet rigorous quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role combines traditional QA duties with strong data-driven analysis and hands-on use of modern quality and inventory management platforms.

Key Responsibilities



Partner with the QA Director to uphold and continuously improve our Quality Management System. Analyze quality- and safety-related data (COAs, complaints, audit findings, environmental and product testing results) to identify trends and drive corrective actions. Maintain and report in TraceGains (or equivalent supplier-collaboration platform), Monday.com (or similar project/inventory management system), and our ERP/inventory modules. Serve as liaison with CFIA for inspections, audits, and any quality-related inquiries. Support internal and external audits (GFSI-benchmarked schemes, GDP, customer addenda such as Costco, organic, social, and third-party other audits). Verify that incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods in all facilities and partner warehouses meet Alasko's quality specifications. Train operators and junior QA staff on QA protocols, software tools, and data-interpretation techniques. Design and execute sampling plans to assess product defects, count/size distribution, packaging integrity, temperature control, and overall appearance. Oversee scheduled and on-demand product and environmental testing; generate and distribute COAs. Investigate customer and consumer complaints, lead root-cause analyses, and implement corrective-action plans. Manage supplier qualification documentation: approval questionnaires, certifications (e.g., kosher, organic), allergen statements, and production checklists. Collaborate with Marketing and Regulatory Affairs to ensure labels, packaging, and artwork comply with Processed Products Regulations, Food and Drugs Act, and Health Canada requirements.

Education & Experience



College or University degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related discipline. Minimum 3 years' experience in the food industry, with exposure to quality- and safety-driven environments. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including data collection, statistical analysis, and KPI reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel--pivot tables and basic macros preferred) and experience with: TraceGains (or similar supplier-quality platform) Monday.com (or equivalent project/inventory management tool) ERP/inventory management systems
