Position Summary



Quality Control Technician is accountable for conducting incoming inspections of raw materials, subassemblies and assemblies for internal production, incoming finished goods from manufacturing partners and for internal production. This role is also responsible for investigating the returned products for warranty approval and conducting defect analyses and maintaining accurate records of inspection results and findings. As well, creating reports to analyze and identify consistent errors to plan for future prevention.

Position Responsibilities



Administer the customer return goods (RMA) process from evaluation, root cause of failure, to disposition of returned goods. Test and troubleshoot electrical circuits and electronic circuit boards to determine failure mode and perform necessary repairs as required. Gather, interpret and enter failure data information into computerized tracking system and analyze data to detect negative trending. Perform a variety of electrical tests on manufactured products to confirm product is within engineering specifications. Assist and perform rework and/or repairs on products where needed. Conduct inspections on incoming raw materials, subassemblies and assemblies, incoming finished goods and internal production.
Audit and test materials from suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards.

Evaluate product quality and performance through various methods of life and ageing tests. Prepare monthly quality management reports.
Support Customer Service Department with client communications as needed.

Prepare detailed 8D or A3 failure and corrective action reports.

Provide support to production staff and the engineering team as needed.

Calibrate production line test panels and request the periodic calibration of instrumentation.

Monitor the production lines in order to ensure that manufacturing procedures and instructions are being followed. Builds, troubleshoots and maintains test equipment under the guidance and direction of the Operations and Engineering team. Comply and follow all procedures within the company health and safety policy. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills



Post-Secondary Education in Electronics Engineering.

2-3 years' experience in a manufacturing setting.

Highly safety conscious with solid experience in electrical and electronic testing and troubleshooting

Familiar with formal quality management system such as ISO 9001

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Strong technical report writing skills.

Must be proficient in operating the following equipment:

o GW Instek programmable power supply

o High voltage test bridge

o Fluke multimeter

o GW Instek spectrum analyzer and oscilloscope

Advanced PC and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
