The QC Specialist - Production Support plays a key role in maintaining quality and compliance within Elevate Wellness Inc.'s cannabis processing facility in Port Coquitlam, BC. Working closely with the Production team, this role ensures all production activities meet Health Canada's Cannabis Regulations, GMP, and internal quality standards through real-time monitoring, verification, and proactive support.
Monitor day-to-day production activities to ensure compliance with
GMP, SOPs, and Health Canada requirements
.
Verify that production areas are properly cleared, cleaned, and labeled before starting new batches.
Ensure personnel follow proper
PPE, gowning, and hygiene
procedures at all times.
Confirm equipment and utensils are clean, intact, and labeled with proper status (Clean, In Use, Out of Service).
Observe and document in-process checks such as weights, counts, sealing quality, and labeling accuracy.
Verify segregation and identification of materials (raw, in-process, finished) to prevent mix-ups and contamination.
2. Documentation and Record Control
Review batch records, cleaning logs, and equipment usage logs for completeness and accuracy.
Support production employees in completing GMP forms correctly and in real time.
Identify and escalate deviations, non-conformances, or unusual events observed during production.
Maintain daily QC reports and communicate key findings to the QA and Production Managers.
3. Material and Equipment Verification
Confirm packaging and raw materials are verified, approved, and released before use.
Check that calibration stickers and expiry dates on measuring instruments are valid.
Ensure all production waste is disposed of properly and that housekeeping standards are maintained throughout operations.
4. Product Release and Quality Support
Assist QA in the review of production and packaging documentation for product release.
Support sampling, retain management, and product labeling verifications.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation where applicable.
5. Training and Continuous Improvement
Provide on-floor reminders and coaching to staff regarding GMP, hygiene, and recordkeeping.
Identify opportunities for improving documentation accuracy, cleanliness, or workflow efficiency.
Participate in internal audits and mock inspections to strengthen compliance culture.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Science, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field preferred.
Minimum
2 years of experience
in a regulated manufacturing environment (cannabis, food, or pharmaceuticals).
Strong working knowledge of
Health Canada's Cannabis Regulations

Good Production Practices (GPP)
, and
GMP
principles.
Excellent communication, observation, and documentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with production teams in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
