About the Role:



The QA Technician position will report to QA Manager. As a QA Technician you will assist with implementing and supporting company standards to ensure quality specifications for packaging, raw ingredients and finished products are met and food safety of manufactured products is upheld. Monitor and sample quality control plans and process control procedures to ensure production of finished product is to standard.

Essential Functions



Perform daily QA walk-throughs; verify cGMPs are followed in the facility and set example by putting into practice proper cGMP procedures. Monitor plant operations to ensure sanitary operational procedures are followed according to cGMPs. Perform pre-operational inspections, monitoring food safety and quality. Inspect incoming raw materials, review COAs and COCs as required. Initiate and complete the hold process for non-conforming product, raw materials, and other materials as required; follow up and complete disposition when determined. Verify batch formulas and product labels ensuring activities are complete and meet specifications. Monitor and verify CCPs/preventive controls as required. Perform equipment calibration as assigned. Perform environmental swabbing for bacteria and pathogens; prepare, document, send swabs to third party lab as required. Identify and report food safety issues and assist in conducting investigations into food safety issues, foreign material findings, and customer complaints. Review production records for completion and compliance with good documentation practices. Assist with regulatory and independent inspections and audits. Serve as a resource to production employees for product quality, food safety, regulatory issues. Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of products manufactured in the facility, e.g., calibration verification, temperature monitoring of freezers and coolers, conduct GMP training. Perform other job-related duties as assigned (e.g., support R&D factory trials - ingredients preparation, documentation, sample collection and labelling).

What you'll need



Post-secondary education in Food Science, Chemistry, or related programs. HACCP background with minimum 2 years experience in food manufacturing. Basic knowledge of cGMP and Food Plant Sanitation. Strong problem-solving skills. SQF training and experience preferred. Operational knowledge of Excel, Word, MS Outlook.

: Sunday - Thursday, 9:30PM - 6:00AM

Pay: $17.85-$21.00 per hour
