Overview:The QA Technical Coordinator is responsible for developing standardized operating, auditing, and testing materials under the Trophy Foods\xe2\x80\x99 Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (FSQMS) program. The QA Technical Coordinator will review, monitor, and improve the various training guides, SOPs, testing and auditing systems to increase continuous improvement objectives within the QA program. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: \xc2\xb7 Design and develop standardized procedures for the QA and Operations teams as they relate to the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (FSQMS). \xc2\xb7 Perform in-process inspection of production and packaging operations as per standard procedures. \xc2\xb7 Develop visual guides and training material with focused information pertaining to each applicable department. \xc2\xb7 Perform internal audits of process and program reassessments. \xc2\xb7 Create electronic templates associated with incoming raw material and facility inspections, intermediate and finished product testing, and internal GMP and GFSI audits. \xc2\xb7 Setup communication workflows between departments to initiate and closeout non-conformance and corrective action reports efficiently. \xc2\xb7 Review and update databases to ensure continuity of specifications, nutritional information, operational recipes/instructions, etc. as they relate to the manufacture of finished goods. \xc2\xb7 Work with other departments to create, monitor, and revise various initiatives including the review and disposition of aging and expired materials, hold/release program, shelf-life extensions, etc. \xc2\xb7 Apply statistical process control methods to analyze data captured through process checks, product tests and customer complaints. \xc2\xb7 Recommend organizational process improvement initiatives based on identified trends and key performance quality metrics. \xc2\xb7 Support training for Quality Systems as needed \xc2\xb7 Participate in CAPA investigations. Report and respond to quality process deviations in timely manner to Food Safety Specialist and/or QA Manager. \xc2\xb7 Participate in Change Control processes related to the FSQMS. \xc2\xb7 Participate in SOP management. \xc2\xb7 Continuous improvement of existing processes and products as required. \xc2\xb7 Backup for QA Lab Staff when required. \xc2\xb7 Other duties as directed by the Food Safety Specialist and/or Quality Assurance Manager. Experience, Qualifications, and Educational Requirements: \xc2\xb7 Bachelor of Science (Food Science) degree or Science related degree (e.g. chemistry, microbiology) with ideally a minimum of 2 years of experience in the food industry. \xc2\xb7 Must have HACCP and GMP qualifications. \xc2\xb7 Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment operating under a GFSI Benchmarked food safety standard (BRC preferred). \xc2\xb7 Must be competent in using standard computer software packages including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. \xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of ERP systems for food manufacturing. \xc2\xb7 Experience in delivering training. \xc2\xb7 Experience in six-sigma/lean manufacturing and/or statistical process control methods is an asset. Understand how individual decisions and actions impact the needs of the department as well as overall corporate goals. Physical Effort: \xc2\xb7 Regularly walks through the plant and office areas. \xc2\xb7 Extended periods of time often exceeding 1 - 2 hours without sitting. Work Environment: \xc2\xb7 Regularly exposed to allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, sulphites, soya, dairy, egg, gluten and sesame. \xc2\xb7 Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions including slippery floors. \xc2\xb7 May be exposed to equipment and processing mediums exceeding several hundred degrees Fahrenheit and noise levels exceeding 85 decibels. Ear protection must be worn when on the Plant floor. \xc2\xb7 The employee may be required to handle chemicals that require PPEs to be worn including a respiratory PPE. Sensory Attention: \xc2\xb7 Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses used in co-ordination. \xc2\xb7 Ability to apply common sense to problems involving mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, and dividing and written or oral instructions. Mental Stress: \xc2\xb7 Work and environment are not repetitious/unchanging. \xc2\xb7 There is noticeable pressure from deadlines, accuracy or similar demands.
