:Reporting to the QA Supervisor, the QA Specialist is responsible for reviewing and approving the supplier quality documentation to ensure that it meets the objectives of both the Seaspan Shipyards Quality Policy and Quality Management System manual and works to address identified deficiencies. The Specialist provides expertise and guidance to the Supply Chain Management team members and liaises with external suppliers to ensure the standard methodology and timelines are met for QA deliverables. Other key responsibilities include leading internal, process, and supplier audits and assessments.Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton in North Vancouver.What you\'ll do

  • Reviews and approval of supplier quality documentation.
  • Supports development of corrective actions required by supplier to address any non-conformances and drives closure of supplier CAPAs.
  • Documents supplier performance based on quality issues.
  • Initiates document reviews with other Quality teams.
  • Supports supplier pre-qualification through supplier portal.
  • Conducts internal audits and supplier audits and assessments.
  • Supports program FATs as directed.
  • Supports continuous improvement projects.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
What you\'ll bring
  • Mechanical engineering degree or an equivalent experience inspecting mechanical components.
  • Knowledge of welding requirements experience is an asset.
  • Qualified auditor certification.
  • 4-7 years of experience in shipyard repair and/or new construction environment or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Prior Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015.

The estimated salary for this position is $76,500- $93,500. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate\'s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity.
