We currently have an opportunity for a Systems Testing/QA Specialist (AODA) x2, supporting a public sector partner on an exciting new project.

Responsibilities:

• Works in partnership with clients, advising them on information technology to meet their business objectives or overcome problems, work to improve structure and efficiency of an organization's I&IT systems.
• The I&IT Consultant may be used to provide strategic guidance to organizations about Information Management & IT technology, IT infrastructures and the enablement of major business processes through enhancements to IT.
• Provides subject matter expertise in their field and highly expert technical assistance.

General Skills:

• Acts as the technical advisor/expert on all aspects of a specific deliverable
• Provide the quality assurance/quality control of specific deliverables
• Anticipates and resolves problems to ensure that the deliverables are completed within budget, to the highest quality, meeting, or exceeding expectations
• Develops processes and procedures for implementing deliverables
• Prepares reports and presentations including options, recommendations, implementation plans, etc.
• Works with clients to define the scope of a project and to determine requirements
• Defines software, hardware, and network requirements
• Analyzes I&IT requirements giving independent and objective advice on the use of I&IT
• Designs, tests, installs, and monitors new systems and develops solutions and implementation of new systems
• Familiar with change management principles and methodology
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices

Requirements:

• The Consultant is expected to provide advice on the testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing.
• They will also plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including the execution of systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing.
• They will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of the required system

Responsibilities/Assignment Deliverables:

• Hands-On experience with AODA, including working with screen readers, colour contrast checkers, syntax checkers, browser tools and experience with manual in-depth dives into applications to ensure these meet trhe WCAG 2.0 AA requirements;

knowledge of Accessibility compliance principles as presented in WCAG 2.0 is a must * Consultant must be able to make remediation recommendations in the areas of application design, code development, application architecture, user experience and user interface.

• Expert skills using HP/ALM
• Extensive practical experience in Quality Assurance preparing Test Plans, Test Cases and executing and monitoring unit, integration and UAT testing while working directly with clients
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills in both oral and written
• Experience in preparing technical presentations
• Experience in ORACLE DB, J2EE, HTML, XML
• Consultant may be asked to work on additional projects/assignments

Experience & Skill Set Requirements:

• Solid experience with triaging defects, participating, and leading triage meetings, and producing defect summary reports
• Hands on experience with various defect tracking tools such as HP ALM
• Experience creating test cases and test scenarios in HP ALM
• 5-10 years of hands-on experience with system testing, system integration testing
• Manual system testing and integration testing experience including creating test cases and test plans
• Screen Readers - JAWS, VoiceOver, Hi Sheriff, NVDA
• Extensive knowledge of the WCAG 2.0 standard Level AA
• Experience with Accessibility and User Experience for Mobile Applications

Extensive experience with Screen Readers, Syntax Checking tools, Colour-Contract tools, browser tools/toolbars. * Extensive experience with manual scanning of pages using combined knowledge to identify hidden/complex accessibility failures

• Technical assessment of Mobile applications for AODA
• Experience with HTML 5, WAI-ARIA tags, UX and front-end development
• Ability to provide coding, system and architecture recommendations to ensure application is Accessible
• Experience with development tools (Java, Angular JS) and ability to provide coding recommendation for Accessibility remediation
• Experience with User Experience Interface design and architecture.

Other Details

• This position is currently hybrid remote/on-site. This request will be required to work onsite 1-3 days per week.
