On behalf of our public-sector client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a QA Engineer (AI Projects) on a 12-month contract, with a potential for extension.Summary of the Role:
This role focuses on automating QA and testing functions for projects leveraging emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning models. Working closely with tech enablement teams, the QA Engineer will contribute to quality processes across the software lifecycle, ensuring quality standards in agile and DevOps environments.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Automate testing functions, including script creation and conversion, for AI-powered applications and rapid prototypes.
  • Conduct hands-on testing, both automated and manual, for Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and related project phases.
  • Utilize and integrate AI, ML, and blockchain technologies in QA processes to enhance testing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify automation opportunities and implement a shift-left testing strategy.
  • Advocate for transitioning from a Quality Control to a Quality Assurance mindset within the team and organization.
Core Requirements:
  • 7+ years in software testing within technology departments, including 5+ years in test automation.
  • 3+ years in agile practices, cloud platforms, and DevOps environments.
  • 1+ year working with AI models, including Large Language Models (LLMs), generative AI, ML, and Azure AI.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps, DB2, SQL Server, Katalon Studio, Selenium, Java, Ready API, SoapUI, and LoadRunner.
  • Extensive knowledge of automation, performance testing, and API/integration testing.
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Experience working with new and tech enablement teams.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and test-driven development.
  • Exposure to AI and emerging technologies in a QA or testing capacity.
Terms:
This is a 12-month hybrid contract requiring up to three days per week onsite, primarily for applicants within the lower mainland. Local candidates are preferred.
