We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions by planning, creating, and executing test cases in Zephyr, analyzing test reports, running pipelines, and collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in QA automation tools, who thrives in a collaborative team setting, and can confidently deliver quality assurance insights to upper management.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive test plans, including scenarios and detailed steps, in Zephyr. Execute these tests to ensure software quality and coverage.
Analysis & Reporting: Perform root cause analysis on test failures, generate detailed test reports, and present findings to both internal and external stakeholders, including upper management.
Pipeline Management: Run existing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to deploy and test applications in various environments.
Environment Management: Update and maintain testing environments to support ongoing testing needs.
Collaboration: Participate in daily meetings with a remote QA team to align on testing activities, resolve issues, and ensure team alignment.
Must-Have Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Zephyr and Jira for test management and tracking
Experience with Cucumber and WebDriver for behavior-driven development and test automation
Familiarity with Jenkins for CI/CD
Competency in JavaScript or TypeScript
Hands-on experience with at least one of the following test automation tools: Appium, Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Strong coding background with proven automation experience
Experience with AWS for managing cloud environments and infrastructure
Existing government security clearance
Requirements:
Must be a Canadian citizen
5+ years of experience with QA
Onsite in Waterloo, Ontario (5 days/week in office
