:
Health Information Management (HIM) and Patient Access (PA) includes Health Records, Release of Information, Patient Portal, Forms and Central Registration. HIM provides superior client service to both internal and external stakeholders and patients. The team is responsible for the accuracy and quality of the health records whilst safeguarding the integrity of the Health Record.
As a Quality Assurance Clerk, you will support the flow and operations of Health Records chart management, ensuring high standards of data quality and completeness in the EMR. Reporting to the Manager of Patient Access, Records, and the Regional Patient Portal, the candidate will be responsible for coverage in Scanning, Indexing, Transcription, Release of Information, Central Registration and will also participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Education:
Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Medical Terminology Required
Community College Graduate of a Medical Office Administration Program or a registered Health Records Management Program an asset.
Experience:
Excellent computer skills and experience with MEDITECH
Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
Knowledge of Health Information Systems
Thorough understanding of the Personal Health Information Act (PHIPA)
Competencies:
Attention to detail and accurately handle small pieces of information, ensuring precision and thoroughness in tasks
Demonstrate sound judgement and ability to make independent decisions
Strong customer service skills (e.g., empathy, active listening, conflict resolution)
