Job Description


Location: Markham, Ontario:Job OverviewThe QA Analyst contributes to the success of Pet Valu by developing and sustaining software quality assurance procedures and controls, facilitating, and coordinating test activities during the software application development lifecycle for our stores. As a software quality assurance analyst, you will manage system and problem analysis, as well as directly perform complex system and problem analysis associated with application development and test management functions and participate in assessments with meeting test criteria, product releases and software deployment readiness. You will also make recommendations to improve test procedures and assist with the development of test processes, methods, and tools. Strong focus on manual ecommerce website testing; as well as automated testing.Essential DutiesSchedule and perform functional, integration, regression, and release testing.Collaborate with development to resolve defects uncovered during testing cycle.Participate in requirements and use case reviews.Maintain working knowledge of quality standards.Experience, Education, Certifications

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance
  • Strong testing experience with store POS. Preferably Oracle X-store
  • Strong in Agile development Methodologies
  • Knowledge of retail stores processes and operations including ecommerce and OMS systems a plus
  • Knowledge of payment processing testing a plus
  • Familiar with automated testing, frameworks a plus

  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
  • Facilitate compliance and security activities as they pertain to business processes and policy enforcement.

Technical SkillsMinimum: 5 Years
  • Experience with work flow collaboration tools such as: Jira, BaseCamp, Asana, Smart Sheets, etc. or others that have the same functionality.
  • Proficient in standard end-user computing tools such as: Google Applications, Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Preferred: 4 Years of the above, plus:
  • High proficient in standard end-user computing tools such as Google Applications, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio or equivalent. Excel \xe2\x80\x9cPower User\xe2\x80\x9d for use in data analysis and summarization of detailed data.
