Background Information


The purpose of this request is to acquire resources with the following set of skills to deliver thoroughly tested releases under tight timelines:

Must haves:

Minimum 6 to 8 years' experience testing and automating applications within electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience testing clinical software systems Knowledge of the Provincial Consent Override Interface (PCOI) application, Consent Management Technology Asset (CMTA) application, Ontario Lab Information System (OLIS), Provincial Client Registry (PCR), SMILE/CMRO system and One Access Gateway (OAG). Hands-on experience with UI and Web Services automation tools such as SOAPUI, Selenium, Selenium WebDriver, JIRA, Dexter, Data Driven automated testing Experience working with ORACLE, ETL, SQL databases and queries Knowledge and hands-on experience with HL7 messages and data structures Knowledge and hands-on experience with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) messages and data structures Experience with testing RESTful APIs Experience with testing system accesses based on OAuth authentication/authorization and JWT tokens Experience working in Agile-Scrum environment, test planning, test case writing, test case execution, test reporting, manual and automated testing Knowledgeable in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deliver (CI/CD) - Jenkins, Maven, GitLab

Responsibilities:

The resource Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist will be required to: Contribute towards development of testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing Provide test estimates to Test lead for assigned testing tasks Develop and execute manual test cases and test data. Execute functional & system integration testing for UI (User Interface) and backend systems, connectivity/error handling testing, and other test types as defined in the test strategy/plan. Develop and execute robust and dynamic automated test scripts, parameterize test data, and integrate the scripts into an automated test suite. Maintain and update the automated test suite due to changes in functionality Develop test plans, test scripts and test cases and execute these against the various components. Work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems

Desired Skills:

Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices. Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards Experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems Experience coding automated test scripts to produce sets of automated test cases Knowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms Experience executing functional tests, non-functional tests and systems level integration tests Experience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) activities Experience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools and structured methodologies Experience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validation Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines Knowledge of one or more automated testing tools

Evaluation Criteria:

Minimum 6 to 8 years' experience manual testing and automating applications within electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience testing clinical software.:

Deliverables

Deliverables include but not limited to:

Review of solution design and requirements to provide input on test effort estimation Traceability matrix covering all requirements in project scope High level test scenarios and detailed test cases creation and execution Test data as per test scenarios/test cases Automated test script creation and execution Issue escalation, follow up and troubleshooting, and defect management Test reports

Knowledge Transfer Details:

The resource will ensure full knowledge transfer is provided to the Ontario Health team before end of engagement. Some of this might occur at the end of the engagement but will also be shared as information is obtained/consolidated. Key deliverables will be shared with team. The resource must provide all related documentation as part of knowledge transfer protocol. Documents will be reviewed by the appropriate leads and signed off by manager/director. The resource will work collaboratively with the Ontario Health team throughout the assignment and ensure key deliverables, milestones, and documentation are shared. A walkthrough of any demos, development, etc. will be required before the end of the engagement.
