Are you an experienced and hands-on Python Developer with strong backend expertise and the ability to work across APIs, microservices, and data-related troubleshooting? This exciting opportunity allows you to support one of our top financial clients by building scalable solutions, resolving complex data issues, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
Working with a leading financial institution, this position calls for a Python Developer (Banking) who will design, develop, and maintain backend components, contribute to high-quality applications, and ensure efficient data handling within banking systems. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and excels at communication in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python.
• Build and enhance APIs, web applications, and microservices to support enterprise-level systems.
• Diagnose and resolve data quality issues, schema mismatches, and pipeline failures (not a data architecture role).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, QA, and Business stakeholders, to support requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Apply best practices, design patterns, and clean coding standards to all development work.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support incident resolutions as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance and code quality.
• Work effectively in a banking environment, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.

Desired Skill Set:

• 5-7 years of backend development experience with strong hands-on expertise in Python.
• Proven experience building APIs, web applications, and microservices.
• Strong ability to analyze and resolve data quality issues and pipeline failures.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices and design patterns.
• Banking or financial services experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ACBS, AFS, or Corporate/Commercial Lending systems is an asset.
