We are looking for a litigation lawyer with 5-10 years of experience to join our growing team. This role is rooted in general commercial and civil litigation, including both leading and supporting on litigation files in commercial, employment, non-profits and corporate, real estate, construction, residential tenancy, and Aboriginal rights and title.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Lead and support a significant caseload of 30-50 active dispute matters with a broad range of applicable law.
Deliver exceptional quality, efficient and proportionate legal services to our purpose driven client base.
Assist clients with analyzing opportunities for alternative dispute resolution, and if advisable and instructed by the client, assist clients through such processes.
Appear in court and arbitral forums as required, including uncontested and contested applications.
Engage directly with clients, other counsel, experts, other witnesses, adjudicatory and judicial bodies.
Delegate to, direct, and oversee our junior and non-legal staff in respect of file work and practice management.
Conduct client consultations and provide strategic legal guidance.
Draft pleadings, settlement agreements, inter-counsel and inter-party correspondence, legal memos, and other dispute related documents.
Spearhead business development and marketing activities to grow and maintain the firm's litigation practice, including an option to become the firm's litigation group leader in the future.
Utilize Clio, Appara, Notion, NetDocuments and other legal technology to track and manage file-related documents effectively.
Mentor and support junior lawyers while collaborating effectively with the administrative and operations team.
Assist the firm with vetting potential candidates for legal, paraprofessional and staff positions as the firm grows.
Carry out other tasks and responsibilities suitable for a Litigator assigned by the firm.
Requirements
and Preferences
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia. Licensure in the Yukon is an asset, and willingness to be called in the Yukon and practice in Alberta and Ontario as the need arises, are a requirement.
5-10 years of demonstrable experience in a breadth of civil and commercial litigation areas.
Full-Time Availability.

A client-focused approach with the ability to communicate and connect empathetically.

The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment, including mentoring junior lawyers and working effectively with paraprofessionals.

Employment Terms
We are offering a range of employment terms depending on the seniority and fit of the candidate, including the following:
Salary range of $120,000 - $170,000
Unlimited vacation entitlement in line with the firm's vacation policy

In office preferred, hybrid option available (3 days in office minimum, with preference given to candidates in the Greater Vancouver Area) following completion of 6 month probationary period
