This position will encompass areas such as inventory management and will work in conjunction with assistance of the planner and maintenance supervisors. Dealing with contract negotiations and researching and identifying opportunities for growth, the role will focus on ensuring consistent service delivery is maintained while driving continuous improvement. This role supports and participates in the Health and Safety Program. You will enforce safety rules and safe work practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe level of inventory of all critical parts in Stores to ensure that there will be no down time due to parts not being on-hand when required
  • Manage consumables
  • Use ERP computer system to manage and preform maintain inventory functions
  • Inventory Management including warehousing (labeling, organizing, adding new stock), issues, returns, replenishment and disposal of stock (obsolescence, surplus), proper storage techniques are utilized and required preservation
  • Responsible for following the New Item Request Process for any new material adds to inventory
  • Ensure all inventory issues are entered into the system correctly
  • Help to identify and solve problems pertaining to discrepancies in inventory
  • Help to identify and resolve issues pertaining to discrepancies with invoices
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies as they occur, and process claims when necessary
  • Pack and ship outgoing freight to minimize damage or leakage of parts
  • Maintain records (TDG, MSDS, outgoing freight documents etc.) and handle packing slips/invoices as required
  • Perform cycle counts on a regular schedule to ensure all parts are counted annually
  • Maintain communication and critical relations with maintenance, operations team members, courier companies and vendors
  • Ensure safe handling of chemicals received on-site through Stores
  • Operate forklift
  • Prepare purchase orders from approved requisition by reviewing and verifying specifications, price and delivery and recommending alternatives
  • Ensure adherence to Corporate negotiated contracts
  • Order inventory replenishment requirement by verifying price and delivery
  • Monitor and expedite orders (includes repairables)
  • Maintain and safeguard purchasing documents including shipping documents
  • Good understanding of PST tax regulations
  • Work collaboratively with accounts payable on invoice resolution, accruals and commitments report
  • Track and report monthly savings and KPI results
  • Ensure adherence to Corporate Procurement Code of Practice
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must possess an industry recognized purchasing designation or equivalent minimum of five (5) years purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word and Maximo
  • Previous experience with knowledge of CMMS system such as Oracle
