to oversee and optimize our inventory, purchasing strategy, and vendor relationships. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategic planning with day-to-day purchasing execution. You will lead a team of purchasers while working cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to ensure inventory health, strong vendor partnerships, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing & Inventory Management
Make informed purchasing decisions in collaboration with the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager using sales data, inventory levels, budget targets, and market trends.
Create, submit, and monitor purchase orders, ensuring accuracy across pricing, quantities, and supplier details.
Source special-order products and support assortment development.
Maintain accurate SKU data including cost, pricing, MOQs, case packs, tariffs, duties, and freight.
Monitor competitor pricing and identify opportunities.
Tag clearance and discontinued products and communicate changes internally.
Ensure product and brand information is accurate for marketing and web channels.
Vendor & Supplier Management
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships while sourcing new suppliers as needed.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, discounts, co-op dollars, and payment terms.
Evaluate supplier performance and resolve issues effectively.
Maintain clear communication with internal teams regarding timelines and availability.
Purchasing Leadership & Strategy
Coordinate processes within the purchasing team
Oversight of processes and record keeping.
Coordinate category and product management initiatives.
Collaborate closely with Sales to support product availability and demand.
Oversee purchasing budgets, Open-to-Buy (OTB), and KPI performance.
Drive data-based insights and reporting to support business decisions.
Research and support the development of new product lines.
Ensure policies, procedures, and documentation are up to date.
Support cross-training and coverage across the department.
Promote safe, efficient, and collaborative work practices.
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in leadership, sales, and strategy meetings.
Lead purchasing team meetings and ensure follow-through on action items.
Contribute to the development of AI-driven procurement tools.
Assist with special projects as required.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in retail, purchasing, or inventory management.
3+ years of leadership experience managing or mentoring teams.
Experience with multi-store or multi-channel distribution.
Education in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
SCMP designation.
Strong background in merchandise or sales-driven environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
