Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join their team for a contract role in Calgary, Alberta. This position supports retail procurement operations, ensuring compliance, effective vendor management, and alignment with strategic sourcing goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily procurement activities and ensure compliance.
- Resolve vendor, store, and internal escalations.
- Support strategic sourcing, cost savings, and process improvements.
- Coordinate procurement across projects and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Store Design, Construction, Logistics, and Finance.
- Prepare executive reports and analyze spend and budget data.
- Participate in vendor meetings and support contract management.
Requirements:
- 6-8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, vendor management, and contract compliance.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and cross-functionally teams.
- Ability to analyze data and present insights to senior leadership.
- Strong problem-solving and escalation management skills.
- Experience with ERP/procurement systems in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Proficient in purchase orders, pricing negotiations, and supplier management.
