Job Description


The Purchasing Manager?s role is to manage the development & execution of Global and Canadian contracts focusing on the categories of coffee, oils and pasta .You will focus on managing to maximize category performance, in terms of meeting stakeholder needs. You will be responsible for coordinating Canadian Supply Chain efforts between the vendors, strategic assets & business operations teams to help ensure seamless execution. As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for working closely with Marketing, General Purchasing Organizations affiliated with Aramark, Finance, Legal and Operations through planning, implementing, and marketing efforts, which will drive growth, increase client satisfaction, and drive Aramark?s mission of enriching and nourishing lives.The candidate will act as a primary supply chain resource to drive top & bottom-line returns targeted from prescriptive Canadian menu management activity & standardization approaches as part of a Global Procurement team. Collaboration with Aramark stakeholders and the procurement team will be required to enhance category management strategies, tactics, and measurement tools (KPI?s). The candidate will be involved with all aspects of operational support including coordination of efforts between all internal stakeholders, distribution, vendors, and functional support. Experience with food categories such as coffee, oils, and pasta, is required of the candidate. It would also be an advantage to have knowledge of the foodservice industry from a vendor standpoint.Job Responsibilitieso Utilize standardized methodology to validate & execute Global category strategy and to align required stakeholders to ensure continuity of execution
o Maintaining and/or strengthening the high-quality standards for the products and services we use in our operations, while ensuring price competitiveness in categories of responsibility
o Strategic supplier/category development on a Global & regional basis as required
o Responding to both Global & Canadian markets with detailed needs analysis
o Product Development and Testing
o Preparation of formal or informal Requests For Proposal
o Preparation and analysis of detailed financial proposals and development of recommendations
o Prepare & issue final executed Supplier Agreements with contracted Suppliers
o Provide clear, concise communication and support for the implementation of contracts and programs through distribution and to operational business stakeholders
o Develop & approve Compliance Set-Ups
o Monitor Product and Vendor Compliance to ensure maximum participation & alignment for operational support
o Achieve and maintain acceptable levels of service from our Vendors
o Line of Business interaction and support
o Internal and external communications as it relates to contracts, pricing, new products and service procedures

  • College or University graduate with some finance/accounting experience
  • Prior work experience in a food services environment, preferably in Purchasing/Vendor Revenue
  • Strong personal computer skills with emphasis on superior level Excel
  • Detail oriented with ability to effectively manage priorities
  • Knowledge of food service industry products and brands would be an asset
  • Confident self-starter who can quickly identify priorities and make well thought out action plans
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with internal Purchasing staff, suppliers, and distributors.
