Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement processes and vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supply chain management, with expertise in sourcing and negotiating contracts to ensure the best pricing and quality for our manufacturing needs. This role is crucial in optimizing our purchasing strategies and maintaining efficient operations within the organization.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with organizational goals. Manage vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with contracts and service level agreements. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to secure favorable agreements. Oversee the procurement process from requisition through delivery, ensuring timely fulfillment of orders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively using ERP systems. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information for reporting purposes.

Skills

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Food Science, or a related field; Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in food or import-related industries; Familiarity with Canadian food import regulations and CFIA/CBSA procedures is an asset; Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills; Bilingual ability in English and
