The role:



Position Summary



The Purchasing Manager will lead and oversee all purchasing activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of materials and services for our operations. This position supervises a team consisting of two Buyers, balancing daily purchasing operations with strategic purchasing initiatives.

Given the wide range of products involved - from raw chemicals to laboratory consumables and electrical measuring instruments - this role requires strong supplier management, contract negotiation, and problem-solving skills in an international environment.

The Manager will also be responsible for ensuring professional, respectful, and transparent communication within the team, with suppliers, and across departments. An essential part of this role is implementing and maintaining daily performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities



Supervise and mentor a team of 2 Buyers, ensuring efficiency, growth, and accountability. Oversee day-to-day purchasing operations, including purchase order creation, stock level review, lead time updates, and ETA responses to internal stakeholders. Support strategic, high-value projects, ensuring timely and compliant supply of materials and services. Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Service, Logistics, and Engineering to align supply chain strategies with business needs. Implement, monitor, and report on daily KPIs to track performance and compliance across the department. Ensure proper ERP data accuracy and reporting (SyteLine knowledge is an asset; SAP expertise strongly preferred). Promote a respectful, solution-oriented work environment and effective communication across all levels. Stay informed on market trends, supplier performance, and risks to anticipate and mitigate supply chain challenges.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. 8-10 years of experience in Procurement or Purchasing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams. Strong negotiation and contract management skills with international suppliers. Experience in manufacturing, ideally in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or laboratory products. Experience in implementing and monitoring KPIs for operational performance. Solid knowledge of ERP systems (SyteLine is an asset; SAP expertise strongly preferred). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Bilingual (English and French) required. Availability for occasional travel as business needs require.

Le gestionnaire des achats est responsable de diriger et de superviser toutes les activites liees aux achats afin d'assurer un approvisionnement efficace, rentable et de qualite pour nos operations. Ce poste encadre une equipe composee de deux acheteurs, en equilibrant les operations quotidiennes d'achat.

Compte tenu de la vaste gamme de produits - allant des matieres premieres chimiques aux consommables de laboratoire et instruments electriques de mesure - ce role exige une solide expertise en gestion de fournisseurs, en negociation de contrats et en resolution de problemes dans un environnement international.

Le gestionnaire doit egalement s'assurer que la communication interne et externe se fasse toujours de maniere professionnelle, respectueuse et transparente. Une partie essentielle de ce poste consiste a mettre en place et suivre des indicateurs de performance quotidiens (KPIs) afin de mesurer l'efficacite, le respect des processus et l'amelioration continue.

Responsabilites principales



Encadrer et developper une equipe de 2 acheteurs, en favorisant la performance et la responsabilisation. Superviser les operations quotidiennes d'achat : creation de bons de commande, suivi des stocks, mise a jour des delais, communication des ETA aux parties prenantes internes. Soutenir les projets strategiques de haute valeur, en garantissant la conformite technique, reglementaire et des delais. Collaborer etroitement avec la production, la qualite, le service, la logistique et l'ingenierie pour aligner les strategies d'approvisionnement avec les besoins de l'entreprise. Mettre en place, suivre et rapporter quotidiennement les KPIs pour mesurer la performance du departement. Garantir l'exactitude des donnees et la documentation dans l'ERP (SyteLine est un atout; expertise SAP fortement preferee). Promouvoir un climat de travail respectueux, oriente vers les solutions, et une communication efficace a tous les niveaux. Suivre l'evolution du marche, les performances fournisseurs et les risques afin d'anticiper et de reduire les impacts sur la chaine d'approvisionnement.

Qualifications



Diplome universitaire en gestion de la chaine d'approvisionnement, administration des affaires, ingenierie ou domaine connexe. 8-10 ans d'experience en achats ou approvisionnement, dont 3 ans dans un role de gestion. Experience averee dans la supervision et le developpement d'equipes performantes. Solides competences en negociation et en gestion de contrats avec des fournisseurs internationaux. Experience en environnement manufacturier, de preference dans les produits chimiques, pharmaceutiques ou de laboratoire. Experience dans la mise en place et le suivi de KPIs quotidiens. Connaissance approfondie des ERP (SyteLine est un atout; expertise SAP fortement preferee). Excellentes aptitudes en communication, interpersonnelles et en resolution de problemes. Bilinguisme (francais et anglais) requis. Disponibilite pour des deplacements occasionnels selon les besoins.

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
