The Role

As the

Purchasing Lead, Fruits & vegetables

you'll lead the sourcing, quality control, and overall strategy for fruits & vegetables across our national restaurant network. You'll ensure the reliable supply of high-quality fruits & vegetables that align with seasonal trends, evolving guest preferences, and sustainability goals. You'll collaborate with culinary, supply chain, and vendor partners to drive freshness, flavor, and operational excellence. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic thinking and strong execution.

What You'll Do

Sourcing & Supplier Management

Lead sourcing for national fruits & vegetables suppliers. Evaluate suppliers on cost, quality, delivery, and food safety. Negotiate contracts and build strong vendor relationships.

Seasonal Planning & Forecasting

Plan around market trends and seasonal availability. Adjust strategies based on weather, pricing, and supply chain risk.

Quality Assurance

Partner with QA to uphold freshness and presentation standards. Participate in audits and drive continuous improvement.

Menu Collaboration

Work with culinary to source fruits & vegetables for core and seasonal items. Recommend new options aligned with trends and customer demand.

Sustainability & Waste Reduction

Support local sourcing and waste reduction initiatives. Help reduce food miles and promote responsible sourcing.

Cost & Profitability

Monitor market pricing and implement cost-saving strategies. Collaborate with Revenue Management to support category profitability.

Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization

Minimize spoilage and streamline logistics. Drive vendor consolidation and SKU rationalization.

Consumer Trends

Stay current on consumer demand shifts. Translate feedback into sourcing strategies.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure all fruits & vegetables meet food safety and traceability standards. Coordinate supplier audits with QA.

Product Lifecycle Management

Manage fruits & vegetables items from launch to phase-out. Work with marketing for featured or seasonal product support.

Your Profile

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field 7+ years in procurement or category management (preferably in fruits & vegetables /fresh food) Bilingual French & English (oral and written) Advanced Excel skills (Power BI or NetSuite experience a plus) Strong analytical and negotiation skills Knowledge of food safety and sustainable sourcing Organized, proactive, and comfortable in fast-paced environments
