to support our head office in Vaughan, Ontario. Reporting to the Director of Finance this is
a Monday-Friday permanent full-time on-site position.
This position will be responsible for ensuring products are available to fulfill orders, by tracking inventory and supporting procurement of products planning. This individual will build and maintain relationships, working with various departments and analyzing and reporting all business recommendations to management.
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Review requisition orders for accuracy and verify that stock is not available from current inventories.
Calculate cost of orders and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
Process purchases within purchasing authority.
Support PO pickups and automate process with the logistics team.
Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed deliveries and other problems.
Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and price lists.
Make alternate arrangements in the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize impact on the organization.
Understand and use each vendor's unit of measure to accurately purchase product.
Make recommendations and assist on making process improvements including process maps, SOPs, and standardizing purchase processes.
Group all vendors strategically in order to standardize purchasing processes.
Assist Operations team with strategic cycle counts, bin management, and analyze stock levels utilize FIFO management.
Support the evaluation of risk, assess, prepare forecast scenarios concerning the supply market.
Provide input and recommendations to optimize SAP.
Review update, maintain, and analyze sales trends to identify product demand and inventory levels.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute purchasing strategy solutions, (e.g., Purchasing, Vendor Relations, Operations, and Sales).
Purchasing and Inventory duties may overlap based on Operational requirements.
Maintain key reporting metrics.
All other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
Post-secondary education diploma or bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience in Supply Chain.
At least three (3) years of proven inventory, demand planning, or business analysis experience.
Previous experience working with a food distributor or warehouse preferred.
Experience with Warehouse or ERP systems (SAP) considered an asset
Basic mathematical skills with ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages and averages required
Proficiency in WMS, MS Office Suites and Excel are a must.
Ability to perform data analysis using strategic thinking.
Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
Must also have excellent customer service skills.
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of data entry accuracy.
Must be able to work autonomously and cross-collaboratively with other departments.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable transportation is required for this position.
