The Inventory Associate plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining inventory levels to ensure the smooth operation of our supply chain. This position involves collaborating with various departments to optimize inventory management processes and support manufacturing and procurement activities. The ideal candidate will have experience with ERP systems and a solid understanding of vendor management, sourcing, and pricing strategies.
Duties
Your duties and responsibilities shall include the following:
Prepare and process purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies.
Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and resolve issues.
Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors to ensure quality and reliability.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in maintaining optimal stock levels and accuracy.
Review and recommend minimum stock and re-order points on a regular and consistent basis.
Coordinate with warehouse staff to track incoming shipments and accurately and timely
receive into ERP.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Prepare reports on purchasing activities, costs, and supplier performance.
Handle inquiries related to orders, invoices, and delivery schedules.
Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for bulk purchases or discounts.
Work closely with other departments, such as sales, finance, logistics, and operations, to meet procurement needs.
Escalate issues to Lead in a timely manner.
Provide support for special projects, demo or urgent purchase requests as needed.
Process and follow up PUR complaints.
Assist with processing and reconciliation of inventory counts.
Other tasks as necessary
Skills
Proficiency in SAP and other ERP systems is essential for effective inventory management.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
Knowledge of MRP principles to support production planning efforts.
Ability to analyze data related to inventory levels, sourcing, and purchasing trends.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
Strong communication skills for collaboration across departments.
