Eagle Press is currently in search of a Purchaser to join our team.

The Purchaser will plan, direct, and/or coordinate the activities involved in purchasing materials and products, working closely with the Sales, Engineering, Production and Accounting teams.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Represent Eagle in negotiating contracts with suppliers*
Ensure all purchasing activities support and strengthen the strategic objectives of Eagle*
Locate vendors of materials, equipment, service or supplies, and assess their cost, ability, quality, financials, delivery, prior to finalization and make quote comparisons*
Develop and manage Eagle's proposal, bidding and negotiation process while adhering to applicable legal standards and codes of ethical conduct*
Negotiation with external business partners (suppliers) as per Eagle's proposal, bidding and negotiation process and issue Purchase Orders*
Logistic arrangement to ensure timely dispatches and receipt*
Tracking to ensure on time receipt of material and keep all the internal agencies updated. Maintain records of goods ordered and received*
Review supplier financial statements/reports and evaluate overall supplier health and keep his/her manager updated*
Maintain records of goods ordered and received*
Keep vendor list updated and identify opportunities to explore new vendors.*
Review records of materials, products or services ordered and received*
Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers*
Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability*
Effectively manage time, maintain positive client relations, accurately assess personal work performance, display initiative and professional ethics*
Prepare and present reports showing the targets versus actual achievements in their functional role*
Uphold all Eagle employment standards, policies and procedures*
Uphold all health & safety rules and regulations per Eagle's Health & Safety Manual and Ontario's Occupational Health & Safety Act;*
Performing any other related duties as required*

Essential Requirements:

Knowledge of supply chain applicable laws and regulations*
Negotiation and active listening skills*
Ability to function effectively and productively within a team focused work group*
Working knowledge and understanding of MRP systems*
Understanding of Visual Manufacturing Software*
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods*
Knowledge of INCO terms (Standardized terms used in commerce)*
Knowledge of shipping procedures and documentation*
Ability to read technical drawings and consult his/her Manager or Engineering as needed*
Fluent in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, Project)*
Professional, courteous, easily builds relationships with customers, service skills*
Ability to function effectively and productively within a team focused work group*
Highly organized, detail oriented*
Speak/read/write fluently in English*

Education:

Completion of Ontario College Business Diploma or*
Completion of Bachelor of Commerce*

Working Conditions:

Office environment*
40-50 hours a week*
Some local travel may be required*

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
