As a Purchaser you will require a deep understanding of supply chain management and purchasing processes. This role requires a proven ability to optimize workflows by balancing supply and demand effectively while working to minimize costs and lead times.



Duties and Responsibilities



1. Purchasing and Inventory Management

Oversee the purchasing process to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, components, and equipment. Track inventory levels and identify re-order points to avoid stockouts while minimizing excess inventory. Monitor open orders and follow up with vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Maintain up-to-date records of purchases, pricing, inventory, and supplier performance. Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., production, inventory, accounting) to ensure material and supply needs are met. Resolve issues related to order discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods, or invoicing problems. Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, and new supply sources. Assist in managing vendor relationships. Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and relevant regulations.

2. Flexibility and Collaboration:



Adapt to frequent changes in production schedules and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve common goals.

3. Operational Excellence:



Prioritize tasks effectively with a high sense of urgency to meet deadlines and maintain accountability. Ensure on-time delivery and completeness, measured by internal metrics and client satisfaction. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning and the procurement process. Work within best practices for inventory management, lean manufacturing, and procurement efficiency.

Required Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field; or extensive relevant work experience. Three to five years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain planning. Strong understanding of materials requirements planning (MRP), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and inventory management techniques. Experience with planning and procurement software(s) with excellent overall computer literacy. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data, forecast demand, and make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, for working with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and a diverse group of cross-functional teams. Strong drive to continuously improve systems and processes. Proven experience in planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment. Ability to perform effectively under pressure with meticulous attention to detail.
