About the Role



We are looking for a

Purchaser & Inventory Specialist

to join our automation team. In this full-time, in-person position (8 hours per day), you will source and procure cutting-edge automation technology, components, and equipment while ensuring cost-efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. You will also oversee inventory management, vendor relations, and procurement strategies to support our production and operational needs.

Position Description



Purchase materials, equipment, and develop vendor agreements. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors. Maintain a supplier database and proper filing systems for all purchasing documents. Develop pricing policies and negotiate vendor contracts. Manage inventory levels, pricing, and process changes to optimize costs. Maximize profit margins while ensuring supply chain reliability.

Key Responsibilities



Evaluate bids for materials, equipment, and supplies, and select the best vendors. Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to meet supply chain needs. Reverse-engineer specifications to estimate pricing and procurement requirements. Generate purchase orders and oversee supplier contract negotiations. Monitor supplier performance and provide corrective actions when required. Provide purchasing support through internal and external communication. Conduct trend analysis, problem resolution, and change management in procurement. Monitor inventory levels, stock obsolescence, and variances; provide reports to management. Implement lean and efficient inventory management systems (Kanban, VMI, JIT, etc.). Organize, lead, and report on quarter/year-end inventory counts. Support the development of business strategies to improve profitability. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications



Proven experience in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management (manufacturing or automation industry preferred). Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and reverse-engineer requirements. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
