Job Title: Publications Specialist Location: Toronto, ON Duration: 12+ Months Pay-range: CAD$25 to CAD$29 per hour Description:
Format, edit, and publish technical documents as per company format standards, ensuring on-time delivery in accordance with project deadlines
Ensure proper document revision control following Engineering Change Control processes
Provide assistance to staff as required on:
Desktop publishing tools
Document creation and update processes
Company archive access
Acquire and maintain updated knowledge of Hitachi tools & applications, such as Livelink, ClearQuest, Shared Palma, SharePoint, Nitro, DOORs/Polarion, Citrix account, Web Cloud, etc.
Convert legacy document data in various formats (e.g. WordPerfect, DOORS) into current company standard formats (e.g. Word, Visio, PDF, etc.)
Verify, validate and maintain all soft copies of current drawings
Support IT for traceability of Library archives and workflows
Update and maintain databases for all released drawings, including off-site Archives
Control released software issued on physical/magnetic media (e.g., diskettes, tape, hard drive, CDs, etc.) and programmable devices (e.g., EPROM, PAL, FPGA etc.)
Log and file HW ECNs, verifying attachments are present
Providing copies (hard or soft copy) of archived items as required.
Skills:
Undergraduate degree or post-secondary diploma in a relevant field
2 years' experience with documentation control
Excellent written and verbal English
Advanced computer literacy - Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Visio etc.), Nitro
On-time completion & delivery of tasks with short and firm deadlines
Manage priorities with competing deadlines, across multiple projects
Maintain high quality of work under pressure
Ability to work with minimal supervision and co-ordinate with all team members
Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance to internal guidelines/directives
Strong administrative skills including organization, problem-solving, time management, and effective communication.
Education:
Undergraduate degree or post-secondary diploma in a relevant field
