Public Works Operator/maintainer

Job Description
Due to a current position vacancy, the Town of Deseronto is currently seeking qualified individuals to join our Public Works Department. Duties include--but are not limited to--winter maintenance operations, parks maintenance, assisting with excavations for water and sewer services, pothole repair, and operating and maintaining various equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Grade 12 secondary school diploma
Valid Class "D" driver's licence with "Z" endorsement or a willingness to obtain both, along with a clean driver's abstract
Current training, or willingness to obtain training, in WHMIS, First Aid, Chainsaw Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, and Traffic Control in Construction is considered an asset
Minimum of 2 years of road maintenance or related road construction experience (asset)
Knowledge of snow removal operations and related procedures (asset)
Ability to lift 50 lbs independently
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues
Understanding of applicable health and safety regulations and standard practices
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $26.80-$30.83 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
