Reporting to the Manager of Operations, this position is responsible for operating a variety of equipment and performing tasks required to maintain the Town's infrastructure, including but not limited to water, sewer, and roads systems.
Key Responsibilities:

This position will have regular exposure to a variety of weather conditions, noise conditions and regular lifting while performing the following tasks:
Cold patching, paving, street cleaning, leaf collection, signage replacement, winter maintenance
Operate and maintain heavy and light equipment used in the maintenance of municipal roadways and property including plow trucks, loaders, backhoes, mowers, etc.
Repairs to water and sewer underground piping systems
Operation and maintenance of the water distribution system in accordance with regulations established by the MECP
Maintenance, construction and drainage of all Municipal roadways
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will hold a valid MECP Class 1 Wastewater Collection Certificate and a valid MECP Class 1 Water Distribution Certificate or be willing to obtain these certifications.
The successful candidate must possess a valid Province of Ontario Class "D" license with "Z" endorsement in good standing.
Applicants should have applicable experience in the operation and maintenance of equipment used to maintain roadways (plow truck, loader, backhoe, tractor, mowers etc.)
Ability to handle moderate to heavy physical demands related to manual labour in construction, maintenance projects and equipment repair.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a sincere desire to serve the public.
Acceptable Police Clearance and Driver's Abstract
The Aylmer Public Works Agreement requires that all employees be able to respond within 30 minutes and requires employees who are "on call" to respond within 25 minutes.
Remuneration:

Operator I $23.42 - $28.46 per hour
Operator II $26.90 - $32.68 per hour
Operator III $29.46 - $35.79 per hour
(2025 rates, 40 hours per week)
All positions include a comprehensive benefit package and OMERS pension.
