Overview

The organization, Food Haven, is hiring temporary contract roles for the launch of its community vendor program and food production space. The hiring positions for this project include a Public Relations Liaison. The organization is an employer sponsor for these roles to assist un-employed and under-employed participants with opportunities to gain meaningful work experience while helping the organization to support small agricultural producers to connect to the local economy. The location of work will be at its facility at 1428 Speers Road, Unit 19, Oakville ON.

Public Relations Liaison (Contract)

The Public Relations Liaison will oversee the pre-launch of the Collab Space and the Small-Ag program. Develops and manages online campaigns on platforms like Kickstarter or GoFundMe, engaging with potential partners, donors, and using social media and digital marketing to drive contributions for social initiatives. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, managing campaign budgets, cultivating relationships with partners, donors and backers, fulfilling rewards, and tracking campaign performance to meet organizational or project goals. Reports to Management. 5-month contract, part-time (25 hours/week).

Minimum Requirements:

Eligibility:

Relevant education, relevant experience or relevant hands-on knowledge related to the specific role and duties Ability to communicate in English (a minimum level of limited working proficiency up to a minimum level of professional working proficiency as required by the role) Positive work-attitude Able to follow instructions and receive critique Self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision Proficient in use of related technologies including computers, Internet, social media, Google searches Takes initiative to learn new skills and asks questions Uses time-efficiently and is resourceful to find information/help in a timely manner to respect deadlines

Pay: $17.60 per hour
