Role Overview


A PR and Events Coordinator play a dual role in

public relations

,

communications

, and

event management

into one dynamic job, managing both organizational messaging and the planning and execution of events. They develop strategic communications, handle media relations, manage digital platforms that relate to media and press , and ensure successful event delivery and follow-up. Including the planning and execution of all such events for all senior management in sales and at our retail sites . This role ensures clear messaging, strong community engagement, and a smooth, memorable opening experience.

Key Responsibilities



Communications



Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies across certain channels (email, web, social media, press) as it relates to events corporate messaging Write, edit, and distribute content such as press releases, newsletters, website copy, and social posts. Be a confident public speaker , understanding your audience and speaking in front of them Coordinate interviews speaking engagements and conferences to expand the brand platforms including organization websites, social media, and potentially mobile apps. Work with the marketing team to send these articles, messaging and press releases across social media, website . Create positive relationships and support the sales and senior management teams Organize travel and accommodation with the senior executive assistant Ensure the flawless delivery of all speaking engagements, sales meetings and conference Serve as media liaison: pitch stories, coordinate coverage, and monitor publicity. Oversee digital communications campaigns, analyze metrics, and report on KPIs.

Events



Plan, coordinate, and execute events from initial concept to post-event follow-up. Coordinate logistics of event , catering , meeting rooms , print material hotels etc Liaison with Marketing to prepare signage, brochures, agendas ,and manage distribution. Conduct post-event activities: attendee follow-ups, surveys, and performance reporting. Develop and manage internal and external communications related to the event Coordinate logistics: schedules, speakers, invitations, signage, and onsite support, travel and timing working again with the marketing team Create a distribution strategy and all related promotional materials (press releases, social posts, flyers) Ensure brand consistency across all communications Support post-event reporting and feedback collection of Manage the budget and all expenses relates to each event

Goal of the Role



To deliver a well-organized, positive, and high-visibility to all events building awareness, trust, and community excitement.

Required Skills & Qualifications



Education & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, or related field. Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience in communications, event planning, or digital content. Understanding of First Nations culture and communities is a bnefit

Core Competencies



Strong written , verbal communication and public speaking Excellent project management: juggling multiple initiatives with tight deadlines. High attention to detail--ensuring precision in content and event logistics. Vendor and budget management; contract negotiation.

Technical & Digital Skills



Proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., WordPress, Canva, Adobe InDesign). Social media, email marketing, and analytics familiarity.

Interpersonal & Organizational Skills



Strong interpersonal abilities to interact with media, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure and maintain flexibility for evening/weekend event schedules.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
