The Opportunity: Lead Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of client files, oversee

full-cycle accounting processes

, and ensure financial statements and tax filings are accurate and compliant. Working closely with our CPAs, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Hours:

Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday), with occasional weekend work during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities

Manage

full-cycle accounting

, including preparation and finalization of financial statements, month- and year-end close, and compliance with Canadian accounting standards. Lead the preparation and filing of corporate and personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Conduct compilation engagements across multiple industries. Oversee payroll, reconciliations, and related accounting functions (T2s, T1s, etc.). Provide guidance and support to junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Accounting) or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of experience managing full-cycle accounting. Minimum 3 years of hands-on QuickBooks experience (online and desktop) with advanced Excel proficiency. At least 3 years of experience with corporate tax filings and compilation engagements. Strong technical skills with accounting software (QuickBooks, CaseWare, TaxPrep, Profile, Xero, etc.). High attention to detail, ability to prioritize under pressure, and commitment to accuracy.

Pay: $65,000.00-$77,000.00 per year
