St. Francis Xavier is a thriving Catholic elementary double-streamed school located in Vancouver close to downtown and transit.

In addition to the curriculum stipulated by the British Columbia Ministry of Education, we have a unique component in our program - Chinese as a subject. Students learn to listen, speak, read and write in Chinese four days every week. We believe this will help our students to develop an appreciation of Chinese culture and tradition.

JOB DESCRIPTION

St. Francis Xavier is seeking a music teacher to cover a medical leave from September 2 to December 19, 2025, with the possibility of extension into 2026. This position is part-time: 3 days per week, tentatively Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and contribute to the spiritual life of the school community as well as collaborating with staff, students and parents to foster an engaging learning environment. Job duties include teaching music to a few grades, coaching our intermediate choir, as well as organising and providing music for our weekly school masses. The candidate will be expected to prepare students for our Christmas musical. Knowledge of ukulele and the recorder will be an asset.
