Psychotherapy Assistant, (P.A.): Centretown Psychotherapy is a psychotherapy practice located in downtown Ottawa. We are looking for 2 responsible Psychotherapy Assistants to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Duties of the Psychotherapy Assistant include providing support to the Clinical Director, therapists and intern therapists working at the practice, assisting in daily office needs and managing our practice\xe2\x80\x99s general administrative activities. We are seeking effective communicators who speak clearly, are personable and welcoming when answering incoming calls. They use good judgement and put people at ease when they\'re on the phone or speaking one-on-one with colleagues, therapists and clients. The Psychotherapy Assistant would work on a contract casual basis as needed, during daytime hours and some early evening hours. They would work in-person at the office\xe2\x80\x99s location. This is not a virtual nor remote position. This position would require approximately 2 -3 hours/per week and periodically, full-time hours. All Psychotherapy Assistants are independent contractors. Benefits: Psychotherapy Assistant would be provided with an office space to do their work. They would also have some flexibility with their duties and tasks. As workload might be limited at times, the P.A. could use their time to complete personal tasks once their job-related tasks are completed. Parking would also be provided. Casual hours and casual duties. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools such as the Jane platform and office equipment. Responsibilities

  • Learn safety procedures and protocols to implement when required
  • Implementation of safety procedures and protocols when required
  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Organize and schedule appointments
  • Respond to email enquiries, and distribute email
  • Maintain office policies and procedures
  • Maintain and respect confidential nature of the work
  • Maintain contact lists
  • Provide general support to visitors
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external clients
  • Liaise with therapists and Clinical Director to assist in smooth and safe operations at the practice
  • Participate in training with Clinical Director to learn about emailing protocols, safety protocols, telephone system and Jane Platform
  • Remain on-site at the practice accessible and approachable
Requirements and skills
  • Some knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • High School degree; University degree in Psychology and any additional qualifications as an Administrative assistant are a bonus
