Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Psychotherapist to join our multidisciplinary care team. The successful candidate will provide individual and group therapy for youth living in our staff-model residential homes, collaborate with Child and Youth Mentors, and support the emotional and behavioural well-being of residents through trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and small group psychotherapy sessions for youth in care (once or twice weekly per home).
Conduct clinical assessments, develop therapeutic goals, and maintain confidential client records.
Collaborate with residential staff, the Program Coordinator, and external professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Offer consultation, debriefing, and psychoeducation to staff regarding trauma-informed practice and emotional regulation.
Participate in case conferences and provide input on behavioural support and crisis management plans.
Maintain ethical and professional standards in line with governing college regulations.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
Current registration and good standing with CRPO, OCSWSSW, or other recognized regulatory body.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with children/youth with trauma, FASD, attachment disruptions, or behavioural complexities.
Strong grounding in trauma-informed, CBT, DBT, or strength-based approaches.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience working in residential or child welfare settings is considered a strong asset.
